Katie Burns

My name is Katie Burns. Something important, fun, or unique about my college experience is learning that it’s important to stick together with others when you are a freshman until you successfully pass your campus orientation assessment. Participating in college courses can be easy, hard, or in the middle, but I’m getting used to it. One of my classes that I like is Career Exploration. In the class we talk about how we get started and decide on what career we want in the future.

The clubs that I am involved in around campus include Circle of Compassion, Best Buddies, and Teachers of Young Children Association. I would describe my clubs as fun, because there are things we can do like volunteer work and talk about different topics.

My career goal after graduating is to work in a day care center because I love working with young children.
Being a CCS student will impact my future by becoming more independent, do more volunteer work, and becoming more successful. A special moment I have had as a CCS student is meeting new people and making new friends.

A day in my life: hanging out with my friends, going to the library, doing my homework, and attending my clubs.
