The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) is excited to announce a Pre-College Summer Program (PCSP) for New Jersey high school students ages 16-21 with intellectual/developmental disabilities who are within their IDEA transition years.
This summer residential program is designed to offer eligible and accepted New Jersey students an opportunity to participate in a 10 day/9 night on-campus 2024 summer session. The program will be held on TCNJ’s campus.
Program participants will be provided with an authentic opportunity to explore college life through a rigorous schedule of on-going transition planning based on person-centered thinking: academic classes focusing on literacy, numeracy & critical thinking: supported/facilitated social-emotional development: career/vocational exploration/discovery with an emphasis on pre-employment transition services: and guidance through skills of self-direction and self-determination.

Funding Information:
If you are accepted and enroll in the Pre-College Summer Program, it comes with the valuable support of a NJ state-based eligibility agency ensuring that your tuition will be covered for the enrolled sessions. If you are granted admission and accept, you are committing to being enrolled in this agency. The youth & their family or guardian will engage in a guided process implemented by the program staff to become eligible for this agency’s services during the course of the program. Please note that funding for this program is predicated on this funding source being confirmed.
